Built around four of the six lakes in the “Highland Lakes Chain of Lakes:” Buchanan, Inks, LBJ, and Marble Falls.

The primary towns we serve are Horseshoe Bay, Marble Falls, Burnet, Meadowlakes, Kingsland, Sunrise Beach, Highland Haven, and Granite Shoals.  Lakes Travis and Austin are farther down the chain in the Austin metropolitan area.  Lake LBJ is renowned as an almost constant-level, pass-through lake where LCRA standards do not allow the lake to fluctuate more than one foot from the 834 msl contour line.

The two largest reservoirs, Lakes Buchanan and Travis, store and supply water to meet household, industrial, agricultural and environmental needs. The four smaller lakes – Inks, LBJ, Marble Falls and Austin – are known as “pass-through lakes.”
