Welcome to Horseshoe Bay

Horseshoe Bay real estate welcomes both full-time and vacation home owners at every price range and setting: small to mid-rise condos, garden homes, lakefront cabins, golf course settings, view properties, and luxurious waterfront estates. Entry-level waterfront condos start at around $250,000 while luxury waterfront estates in prime locations can be offered at multi-million-dollar prices. Buy an existing residence or design and build your own dream home. Nestled in the rolling terrain, ranch properties offer winding trails, lush canyons, and expansive Hill Country views. Purchase in formal planned communities or in laid-back, established lakeside neighborhoods. All provide lake access, boat launches, and parks for property owner’s enjoyment and area marinas offer rentals and boat storage.

Tour Hill Country wineries and enjoy Lake LBJ wine cruises. Nearby Marble Falls offers a restored historic Main Street District that includes fine dining, live music, interesting boutiques, art galleries, a theater, and a farmer’s market. Fishing tournaments take advantage of LBJ’s crappies, white bass, and trophy-size large-mouths.

The City of Horseshoe Bay serves many communities: Horseshoe Bay Resort, Escondido, Oakridge, Deer Haven, Blue Lake, and Sandy Harbor. All are built on the shores of Lake LBJ about an hour west of Austin on US Hwy 71. Lake LBJ was created in 1950 when the Granite Shoals Dam was constructed across the Colorado River and was originally called Lake Granite Shoals. President Lyndon B. Johnson owned a ranch along the lakeshore where he hosted world leaders and dignitaries, and the lake was renamed after the president in 1965. The lake is renowned as an almost constant-level, pass-through lake where LCRA standards do not allow the lake to fluctuate more than one foot from the 834 msl contour line. The Horseshoe Bay zip code also includes the Blue Lake Golf Club, a nine-hole golf course that is open to the public but members and Blue Lake property owners enjoy special membership rates.

Horseshoe Bay Resort, a private, lake and golf course resort, is built on the shores of Lake LBJ with numerous amenities and varying levels of membership. Resort membership isn’t required to live in any of the resort subdivisions. The Resort’s real estate includes golf, waterfront, and view properties and amenities such as the Horseshoe Bay Resort Hotel, four Golf Courses (Slick Rock, Apple Rock, Ram Rock, and Summit Rock – a member’s only course), Quail Point Lodge, the Yacht Club, Marina, Spa, Fitness Center, Whitewater Miniature Golf, Tennis Courts, and Japanese Gardens. The Resort’s private jet center features a lighted 6,000-foot runway to accommodate up to a regional jetliner. Also included will be the new clubhouse and event center in Horseshoe Bay West. Pecan Creek, Applehead West, Applehead Island, and The Trails of LBJ subdivisions have owner-exclusive amenities and several are gated.

Escondido Golf & Lake Club

Escondido offers golf course, waterfront, and view properties and you do not have to live on-property to be a member at Escondido. Amenities include Escondido Golf Course, The Great House (full-service club facilities), fitness center, golf teaching facilities, and the Lake Club Pool & Marina.
